Integrating Z into Large Projects Tools and Techniques
نویسنده
چکیده
Overview This paper addresses the problem of using Z to specify large software intensive systems. It is addressed particularly at safety, security or business-critical systems that require a rich language like Z to specify complex data and behaviour. Examples of such systems include air traffic control [1] and financial systems [2]. I am particularly concerned here with the process of writing a system specification. I have claimed [3] that this process is beneficial in itself regardless of any subsequent analysis or proof. The benefits are not automatic, however. The specification is only useful if 1. it is written as part of the requirements elicitation and analysis process; 2. it is comprehensible to all the stakeholders; 3. it is grounded in the application domain; 4. it expresses all the concepts that are relevant; 5. it is integrated into the rest of the development and verification process. On a purely practical level, this implies that we want Z to be part of the ordinary documents that are used every day on the project. That means, in practice, that it has to be integrated into Microsoft Word. So I first describe a tool for writing and checking Z within the Word environment. That is only the start, however: we also need a process for writing the specification and guidelines for its structure. I will describe some progress we have made towards these goals.

Challenges and Prospects for Integrating the Assessment of Health Impacts in the Licensing Process of Large Capital Project in Brazil
Brazil was one of the first countries in Latin America to institutionalize a National Environmental Policy in 1981, including the environmental impact assessment (EIA) process of economic activities with anticipated impacts on the environment. Today, EIA practice in Brazil comes with a number of limitations: it is constrained by its environmental advocacy role; application is strongly oriented ...
متن کاملA New Version of Earned Value Analysis for Mega Projects Under Interval-valued Fuzzy Environment
The earned value technique is a crucial and important technique in analysis and control the performance and progress of mega projects by integrating three elements of them, i.e., time, cost and scope. This paper proposes a new version of earned value analysis (EVA) to handle uncertainty in mega projects under interval-valued fuzzy (IVF)-environment. Considering that uncertainty is very common i...

Redevelopment of distressed and blighted areas are targeted by most of development policies. However, a number of policies have been changed as the result of the ineffectiveness of the previous experiences, theincompatibility of the development tools and plans, the lack of financial resources or social movements. Investments in technology create a large amount of capital investments by major companies. Assessing such investment projects is identified as critical to the efficient assignment of resources. Viewing investment projects as real options, this paper expands a method for assessing technology investment decisions in the linkage existence of uncertainty and competition. متن کاملA Fuzzy Decision-Making Methodology for Risk Response Planning in Large-Scale Projects
Risk response planning is one of the main phases in the project risk management and has major impacts on the success of a large-scale project. Since projects are unique, and risks are dynamic through the life of the projects, it is necessary to formulate responses of the important risks. The conventional approaches tend to be less effective in dealing with the impreciseness of risk response p...
